Cabellut is a boutique vineyard not too far from Barcelona that produces quality wines and provides venue rental services. We offer our small paradise valley for your experiences and hope you will fall in love with it just as we did.

Impactful History

Masias are iconic rural buildings in Catalonia that had great impact on forming the identity of this region. Masia Cabellut began its history as early as the 12th century, but the documents with the official print and a signature by the King of Spain came in place in 1745 with the owner Josep Bondo de la Bisbal del Penedés. At the end of the 18th century, it was an important hostel for pilgrims and other travellers on the old Roman Road.

Rich heritage

It was always a family business and through the centuries only a few families have owned this historic place that was a shelter for Napoleon troops during the Napoleonic Wars. Now Masia Cabellut belongs to two European families – Johnsen and van Buitenen.

Cabellut today

Peter and Jurate Johnsen – married couple – bought this beautiful vineyard back in 2013 after love at first sight and were very lucky to have Nico van Buitenen with his daughter Anse joining the Cabellut Team as partners in 2019.

    As a business developer & strategist, having a vineyard in Spain was a lifelong dream and I am incredibly happy that it had a chance to come to reality and with such great partners. I am obsessed with big game fishing and my beautiful wife.

    I am an industrial bio engineer, olive oil sommelier and wine lover who is developing the nature part of this family project in Cabellut. My focus is on sustainability and ecological production methods.

    Diplomatic, practical and passionate about wine. Apart from being a wine professional - I am also a volunteer forest firefighter since the age of 18. Masia Cabellut is very important to me. I grew up in the local village, Masarbonès, and used to play in the ruins of this beautiful place with my friends and siblings.

    I am specialising in organic farming, looking for a well-balanced production while taking good care of the environment. I'm glad to be part of the Cabellut team as a certified oenologist and agronomist. I inherited this passion for nature from my grandfather and love when people enjoy the products that I make.
